Working closely with the Underhill Group we have been providing transport services for numerous projects over the past 4 months. It is a growing relationship and sees us teaming up with Freightline (SW) Ltd from Bristol for the long loads requiring stretching rear steer trailers.
Plymouth is currently the site for the construction of a new Energy for Waste site and Underhill’s have been supplying architectural steel components to form an exoskeleton around the main buildings. Our loads comprise 2 steel beam sections which when bolted end to end form a large ‘Rib’ up to 52m overall length. We have been engaged to both load these Rib sections into purpose made travel racks and then lift them onto our trailers for transport to site. The photos attached show the loading of the full racks onto the pre-stretched trailer using a 2 crane lift. Transport of such large loads is under full permit and Escort. We supplement these works with the delivery of other components by standard 45’ flat and low loader trailers.
These works have been running on a weekly basis since Dec 14 and we expect them to be completed in Feb/Mar 15.
